American Eagle CU Opens Their First Branch in Illinois

American Eagle Credit Union (AECU), a division of Anheuser-Busch Employees’ Credit Union, opened its first Illinois branch on Wednesday, December 4. The newest branch, located at 1153 Blue Springs Plaza in Shiloh, will be the credit union’s twelfth location in the St. Louis metropolitan area.

State-chartered Credit Unions Reach $11 Billion in Assets

Missouri credit unions regulated at the state level have reached a milestone in growth, surpassing $11 billion in assets for the first time. The Missouri Division of Credit Unions made the announcement regarding the 118 institutions it regulates, known as state-chartered credit unions.

Pettey Wins Business Outreach Professional of the Year

On November 13, 2013, the Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce honored Pat Pettey, of Electro Savings Credit Union (ESCU), with the “Business Outreach Professional of the Year” award. It was presented during the chamber’s monthly meeting.

Pat was recognized for her “Ask the Experts” education series and her work with the Veterans Business Resource Center, which includes educational workshops and individual guidance for returning veterans who want to start their own businesses. Her efforts provide much-needed assistance to small business owners and entrepreneurs.

First Community Included in "Largest Mortgage Lenders" List

The St. Louis Business Journal recently published “Largest Mortgage Lenders,” a list ranked by volume of local home purchase loans and refinances.

First Community Credit Union was ranked as ninth, with nearly $355 million in originations last year.

“It’s great to see First Community recognized among mortgage lenders,” says Glenn D. Barks, president and CEO of First Community. “Home ownership is still the American dream and it’s great to make that happen for people and gain them as members at the same time.”
