Missouri is chockfull of credit union professionals who have a knack for social media. And since social media thrives on collaboration, the Missouri Credit Union Association (MCUA) will facilitate a tweet chat every other month that will be open to all credit unions. This is an extension of #TweetUpTuesdays. 

The first MCUA tweet chat will be held on Tuesday, December 16, at 6 p.m. It will last approximately one hour. Again, since it’s hosted on Twitter ALL Missouri credit unions are invited to participate.

Free Coffee Earns Bank On More Camera Time

Shoppers at Taubman Prestige Outlet received a happy surprise on Black Friday—free coffee! Bank On More bought the first 150 shoppers free coffees on November 28. The benefits of this promotion were twofold; it supported a locally owned business, Nadoz, and raised awareness of credit unions.

Bank On More Supports Small Business Saturday

On November 29, Bank On More celebrated Small Business Saturday by partnering with local coffee shops to give away free coffee in Springfield and St. Louis.

Small Business Saturday is a holiday that encourages people to “shop small” at locally owned businesses. In support of this effort, Bank On More bought coffee for the first 100 customers at Country Girls Espresso (Springfield) and La Cosecha (St. Louis).

Expensive shampoo, child care or the latest tech gadgets were some of the buying decisions that students at Oakville High School had to make during two reality fairs on November 24 and 25. More than 100 students from Oakville learned about money management in a fun and interactive way thanks to a dozen credit union volunteers.

Register Now for 2015 Development Education (DE) Trainings

There are now only a few spots left for credit union professionals as registration winds down for the Winter 2015 Credit Union Development Education (DE) training class taking place January 14-21, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. The Spring class, April 29-May 6, 2015 in Madison, Wis., is also about half full. Attendees of the National Credit Union Foundation’s (NCUF) six-day total immersion experience will learn about credit unions’ social responsibility and domestic and international development through interactive education and professional networking.
