The Don’t Tax My Credit Union (DTMCU) campaign demonstrates how social media can play an important part in sharing the credit union message with lawmakers. Credit unions, including many in Missouri, have taken the DTMCU message online during events like Don’t Tax Tuesday.

Missouri Urged to Ramp Up Don’t Tax My Credit Union Efforts

Credit unions in Missouri, along with credit unions nationwide, are urged to ramp up “Don’t Tax My Credit Union” efforts as members of Congress head back to Washington, D.C. on Sept. 9. 

As of Sept. 6, Missouri federal lawmakers have received 12,610 contacts from the “Don’t Tax My Credit Union” website.

Credit unions in Missouri took the Don’t Tax My Credit Union initiative online July 23 for Don’t Tax Tuesday. Credit unions, their staff and members used Twitter and Facebook to share the #DontTaxMyCU message. Many tagged U.S. Senators and Representatives in their messages, and urged their memberships to do the same.

The credit union tax status fight is going on right now—and it's time to act. Credit unions in Missouri—and nationwide—are encouraged to participate in the Don’t Tax Tuesday event on July 23. This online advocacy day will demonstrate the unity of the 96 million credit union voices in advance of the July 26 deadline for U.S.
