State Lawmakers Gear Up for 2013 Veto Session

Legislators from around the state of Missouri are back in the State Capitol this week for the 2013 veto session. It’s scheduled to begin Wednesday, Sept.11. Governor Jay Nixon (D) vetoed a total of 29 bills passed by the Missouri General Assembly, and all 29 bills are expected to come up for a veto override vote. A two-thirds majority is required in both the Missouri House of Representatives and Missouri Senate to override the Governor’s veto.
