Electro Savings Credit Union honored Edward G. Halliburton at its annual meeting on May 20, 2014, electing him as the credit union’s first Director Emeritus. Halliburton began his volunteer service for the credit union in 1967. He has held the leadership positions of Board Chair and Vice Chair, as well as serving on numerous committees.

Missouri’s Credit Unions Bring in $1.1 Million for Youth Saving Challenge

In April, 7,592 youth caught the save wave thanks to credit unions in Missouri. These young savers deposited more than $1,126,000, and more than 340 new youth saving accounts were opened. On a national level, 94,466 youth deposited $20.5 million with 238 credit unions participating in this year’s National Youth Saving Challenge.

Through the Helping People 1st monthly grant program, 1st Financial Federal Credit Union (Wentzville)​ gives its employees the opportunity to make a positive difference in the community. The Hazelwood branch, located at 5916 North Lindbergh, chose to award a $500 grant and employee volunteer hours to work with PAKT Community Resource Center in April.

Alliance Credit Union Donates Computer Workstations to St. Louis Byte Works

Alliance Credit Union (Fenton) donated 19 computer workstations to St. Louis Byte Works. Through the organization’s “Earn-A-Computer” program, local children earn a computer after completing a free six-week, hands-on series of computer courses. The program is open to students in fourth through eighth grade.
